Thiagarajar College, an autonomous institute, affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University, is accredited with “A” grade by the NAAC in 2007. It was founded in 7th July 1949 inaugurated by the then Governor of Madras, Maharaja of Bhavanagar.

With 62 years of history, this co-educational college is private and aided institution managed by the Kalaithanthai Karumuttu Thiagarajan Chettiar Memorial Trust. This college is situated on the banks of river Vaigai and has sprawling coverage of rare tress in its 13 acres.
